Char Siu Pork (Chinese BBQ Pork)


Ingredients – Marinade

  • 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Ingredients – Meat

  • 2 pound pork tenderloin

Instructions

  1. Mix marinade ingredients in a dish that you will put the meat in
  2. Marinade for 24-48 hours in the fridge
  3. Preheat oven to 320 degrees
  4. Remove pork from the marinade and place on top of a roasting rack.
  5. Roast for 20 minutes
  6. Meanwhile pour reserved marinade into a saucepan, mis 2 tablespoons of extra honey into the marinade and bring to a simmer for 2 minutes until syrupy. Remove from heat
  7. Remove pork from the oven and baste all over with the marinade and bake again for 20 minutes
  8. Remove from oven and baste again and bake for another 10-20 minutes until caramelized
  9. Rest for 10 minutes prior to cutting and serving
