Char Siu Pork (Chinese BBQ Pork)
Ingredients – Marinade
- 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup Hoisin Sauce
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Ingredients – Meat
Instructions
- Mix marinade ingredients in a dish that you will put the meat in
- Marinade for 24-48 hours in the fridge
- Preheat oven to 320 degrees
- Remove pork from the marinade and place on top of a roasting rack.
- Roast for 20 minutes
- Meanwhile pour reserved marinade into a saucepan, mis 2 tablespoons of extra honey into the marinade and bring to a simmer for 2 minutes until syrupy. Remove from heat
- Remove pork from the oven and baste all over with the marinade and bake again for 20 minutes
- Remove from oven and baste again and bake for another 10-20 minutes until caramelized
- Rest for 10 minutes prior to cutting and serving
